VRF condensing unit can be installed indoors

LG has added a condensing unit to its VRF range of air conditioning products that can be installed within the building with its fans facing towards a louvered wall or exterior grille. The Multi V Space unit has inverter drives on its compressors and fan motors and is said to be up to 10 dB(A) quieter than conventional systems with equivalent capacity. The sirocco fans reject the warm air away from the unit towards the right and the left, or in one direction if there is only one fan, to avoid short cycling between air off and air on. The systems are available in 5 or 10 hp, as heat pumps only. Access is only required to the front of the unit, so it can be installed in a cupboard in a apartment block, for example. 900 mm is needed at the front of the unit for services access, and the rear can be flush against a louvered wall. Ducting can be fitted if required. Side access is not needed, so units can be placed alongside one another. The smaller unit can control up to eight indoor units, and the larger unit 16. They can be controlled via the Internet, a PC, a deluxe or simple controller. These units can also be installed outdoors if required.
