Air conditioning equipment for The O2 Arena will include four of Carrier’s newest Aquaforce chillers, incorporating micro-channel heat exchangers.
Carrier is to provide air-conditioning equipment for The O2 Arena — the successor to the Millennium Dome, for which Carrier also provided the air-conditioning equipment. Four of the company’s newest energy-efficient Aquaforce chillers, which incorporate micro-channel heat exchangers, comprise part of the contract. Also involved are 14 air-handling systems. A further eight smaller Aquasnap chillers will be incorporated into further developments in the Arena’s Waterfront leisure village. The centrepiece of the development will be an indoor arena for up to 23 000 people. It will host up to 150 music, entertainment and sporting events in its first year. It is also an official venue for the 2012 Olympics and is set to house the gymnastic and basketball finals. The facility will also include the Live Music Club with a capacity of over 2000, theatre space, cinema complex, exhibition space and bars and restaurants.
