D&S is a dab hand with Lindab design software

The ventilation system for this new headquarters of Vision Security Services was designed by D&S Air Conditioning using Lindab’s CADvent Autodesk-based software.
Lindab’s CADvent software has been used by D&S Air Conditioning of Northampton by produce detailed ventilation-system designs for the 2-storey 1870 m2 headquarters of security company Vision Security Group. CADvent is based on Autodesk and can overlay the digital plans of a building so that the ventilation system can be quickly designed. Once the design has been finalised, CADvent produces an accurate and complete bill of materials for Lindab products so there is no danger of over-ordering or having to make return visits to the distributor for missing parts. D&S was commissioned to design, install and commission a complete heating, cooling and fresh-air system for this building. Darren Scott, managing director of D&S, says, ‘CADvent was extremely helpful in the design and specification. We didn’t have to calculate for ourselves how much ducting we needed. The system simply produces a bill of materials once the design is in place.’ This software is available free to selected customers.
