Water cooled chillers designed to new energy-efficiency standards
Airedale’s UWC range of water-cooled chillers is designed to meet requirements for greater energy efficiency.
In response to changes in Building Regulations and energy-efficiency standards, Airedale has developed a range of packaged water-cooled chillers with EERs of 3.5 and more under nominal conditions. The UWC range is designed to meet the requirements of the Energy Technology List. All major components have been assessed and tested to achieve optimum performance with R407C. These chillers can be matched with optional dry coolers. There are 45 models with cooling capacities from 75 to 450 kW, with standard, quiet and super-quiet variants. They feature dual independent compressor circuits using multiple scroll compressors. Two compressors are used up to 250 kW and three up to 450 kW. There are four or six capacity stages according to demand and unit size. Compressor operation is rotated to achieve even usage. Electronic expansion valve are standard to enhance EERs at part load. AIRETronix controls are standard on the UWC range. Operational parameters can be customised on site and set points changed using fixed or GSM modems. Other features include single and dual brazed plate evaporators and noise-reducing compressor housing. Water connections are made using grooved pipe with clamp connectors, offering flexible unions that can accommodate changes in temperature and minor misalignment. These connectors ensure even pressure around the entire pipe and reduce noise through the use of rubber gaskets. Optional equipment includes anti-vibration mounts, electronic soft start dual pressure-relief valve and refrigerant leak detection on DQ and DSQ models. info@airedale.com
