From design to running in just four weeks, the outdoor units serving a Fujitsu VRF air-conditioning at a health centre in Huddersfield.
Not only was only four weeks available for the design, installation and commissioning of an air-conditioning system for a community health centre in Huddersfield, but it also had to remain operational throughout. Faced with these challenges, Air Conditioning Distribution recommended Fujitsu’s VRF system for the Mill Hill Community Health Centre of Huddersfield Central NHS Trust. The company’s Darrell Lennox explained, ‘Midland Jay Heating & Air Conditioning supplied a performance specification requiring ACD to provide the system design and recommended manufacturer. We selected Fujitsu because of the wide range of indoor units available with their VRF system.’ Three 2-pipe AOY90 condensers, each with a nominal cooling capacity of 28 kW and heating capacity of 31 kW, were connected to 26 indoor units that included wall-mounted and ceiling cassettes. Fujitsu’s VRF system can comprise up to 100 refrigeration circuits with up to 400 indoor units on one transmission network using a centralised controller or PC. Systems can operate individually, with indoor units run independently from one another or controlled on groups by a master controller.
