Chimney automation controller cuts costs

Exhausto’s latest controller for its chimney automation systems and mechanical suppliers of combustion air ensures that the draught in the flue system is constantly correct to maximise fuel efficiency and safety, regardless of how many boilers are connected to the flue or external weather. Adverse weather can have a dramatic effect on flue efficiency and, hence, fuel consumption. If boilers are changed without the flue system being altered, the EBC20 controller can be reprogrammed to provide the ideal draught for the new installation. Chimney automation systems often make it possible to reduce the size of the flue, and the reduced cost can pay for the system. Flues can be horizontal, with bends, and vertical flues do not need to be so tall. Most importantly, a chimney automation eliminates carbon-monoxide spillages into the boiler room. Controlling the fans that drive flues also saves energy compared with fans run at constant speed. These controllers can be used with gas, oil or solid fuel to control both positive and negative pressure and also the supply of fresh air into the room. There are input and output connections for two boilers and a safety lock with the boiler system. Faults are monitored and alarms raised.
