Single-phase Sky Air inverter units delivers high COPs and EERs

Daikin Europe has added a single-phase 6 hp model to its Sky Air range of heat-pump comfort inverters. The RZQS140 can be used with a wide selection of Daikin ceiling-suspended, ceiling-concealed, ceiling cassettes and wall-mounted indoor fan-coil units. Key features include reduced refrigerant charge, COP of 3.3, EER of 3.0 and a maximum piping length of 50 m. The use of Daikin’s highly efficient scroll compressor provides easier control of superheat. These compressors are very efficient in the most frequently used mid to low settings. Maximum power consumption is controlled by the I-demand function by minimising the difference between actual power and predetermined power consumption. Forward-curved Aero spiral blade fans reduce pressure loss, turbulence and noise. The Super Aero grille also contributes to improving COP by reducing the power consumption of the fan without reducing airflow rates. Although primarily designed for heat-pump operation, these units can be converted to cooling only via a setting that disables the heating mode.
