Clamp-on meters monitor district-heating system

micronics
To enable the thermal energy used by individual buildings on the Guys campus of Kings College London to be identified, Micronics clamp-on ultrasonic meters have been installed on the LTHW networks. The meters are currently read manually, but the longer-term plan is for them to be read automatically by the university’s building and energy-management system. Clamp-on meters were selected because they can be installed with minimum disruption to the system and without having to drain it down. This pilot scheme includes seven Ultraflow heat meters to meter the thermal energy consumption of each building within a cluster fed from a central boiler house.
