Argent continues success in further education

Following the refurbishment of heating systems at this sixth-form college in Harrow, Argent has been awarded an ongoing maintenance contract for all the services.
Continuing a relationship with St Dominic’s Sixth Form College in Harrow, Argent is now responsible for ongoing maintenance of all the building’s services. The scope of the contract includes biannual servicing of the college and chapel boilers, visual inspection of all plant and 24/7 emergency call-out. Among recent work was the replacement of an aged cast-iron boiler that heated the chapel, which, although functional, was no longer fuel efficient or cost effective. Argent suggested replacing it with a high-efficiency condensing boiler. Other work that Argent has carried out was the replacement of the heating system that was installed when the college was built in 1979. The single-pipe system with cast-iron radiators was removed and replaced with a 2-pipe system and panel radiators with thermostaticvalves. The contract also included refurbishing the boiler room and installing air conditioners in the main hall and some lecture rooms. Gas services were also installed to the laboratories. A feature of Argent’s service is one engineer being assigned to a client to build a long-term relationship, rather than the normal call-centre scenario where the same engineer is rarely contacted twice.
