Hattersley wins huge hospital valves contract

H&V valve manufacturer Hattersley has won the contract to supply range of valves for part of Birmingham’s new £500 million super hospital. The Hattersley valves will be installed in the plant rooms of the Queen Elizabeth general-hospital part of the project, which has 93 wards and 115 air-handling units. Butterfly and ball isolating valves will be installed, along with strainers, commissioning sets and check valves. The recently introduced Hattersley Multi-Therm valves are being installed to help protect against legionella. These valves enable hot-water services to be operated at temperatures at which the legionella bacteria cannot survive and provide thermal balance for those systems
