Breezair takes the heat out of food packaging factory

Breezair
Breezair evaporative cooling in this packaging area at Aimia Foods is so effective that another system is to be installed in a second manufacturing facility.
With machinery in a hygienic and sealed packaging area of Aimia Foods contributing to temperatures rising above 28°C, CoSaf Environments has installed Breezair evaporative coolers to help keep temperatures down. The equipment included form, fill and seal machined, shrink tunnels and dust-extraction units. Two Breezair coolers were installed on the outside of the building, with cooled fresh air distributed via an extensive system of ductwork to air diffusers throughout the area. Temperature is controlled by programmable regulators with four different control modes. This Breezair system has been designed to provide a gentle breeze rather than blowing turbulent air, so powdered raw materials in the factory are not scattered. Mike Green, project engineer with Aimia Foods, says, ‘Breezair is absolutely fantastic, and there have been some very positive benefits. Since CoSaf installed the coolers, indoor temperatures have been reduced by around 8 K. Breezair has proved so successful that we have asked CoSaf to mirror the installation at our second manufacturing facility.’
