Lochinvar’s sporting win in Leicester

Capable of coping with 50 people taking a show in 30 minutes are these two Lochinvar water heaters installed in Judgemeadow Football Development Centre in Leicester.
To cope with sudden high demands for hot water at the Judgemeadow Football Development Centre in Leicester, two Lochinvar 320LBF balanced-flue water heaters have been installed. They provide hot water for the showers and hand-wash facilities in the centre’s six changing rooms. Leicester City Council, property services projects, specified the equipment to achieve rapid recovery of hot water so that 50 people can take a shower in 30 minutes. This centre has an all-weather pitch that allows players to slide and tackle without suffering friction burns. The £1.2 million centre also has 16 grass pitches, pavilion with changing rooms, medical room and presentation area. It is used by many groups, including after-school clubs, training courses for referees, Leicester City FC and the local community. Each water heater has a recovery rate of 1517 l/h through 44 K and a storage capacity of 276 l. The inclusion of the correx electrical anode protection system means these units required little space above them for maintenance, which suited this project because of the low headroom in the roof-space plant room.
