Elkay connectors provide safe electricity outdoors

Elkay’s Aquasafe electrical connectors enable electrical power to be used outdoors for purposes such as patio heaters and water pumps. They are available for 240 V a.c. or 12 V d.c. Where more than one connector is needed, weatherproof enclosures are available as switched versions with two to six ways or as 3-way unswitched. These are said to be ideal for hot-tub. sauna, swimming-pool and larger lighting installations. When a connector has been disconnected, the exposed connector housing can be sealed using a sealing cap to ensure electrical safety. An active latch mechanism accesses the inner connectors for quicker wiring, and a reliable click-latch system replaces the conventional approach of screwing the two halves together. An O-ring system makes the system waterproof down to a depth of 20 m, with an ingress protection rating of IP68.
