Lochinvar water heaters are put through paces at Belfast college

Among a range of water heaters supplied by Lochinvar for buildings at a teacher training college in Belfast are four CFW500CE copper-fin water heaters.
Energy-efficient water heating, with fast recovery, for various buildings of Stramillis University College in Belfast is provided by a range of Lochinvar equipment. Four CFW500CE copper-fin water heaters and four LST100 storage tanks have been installed in the Navan and Devenish Buildings. Two Efficiency+ EPW200CE water heaters and an LST100 were installed in the Dunseverick building. The equipment was specified by Semple & McKillop and installed by Hutton (M&E) Services. Following this initial project, six more water heaters have been installed around the campus by contractor Alexander Ranking & Son. David Pepper, managing director of Lochinvar, says, ‘A major feature of copper-fin water heaters is the fast recovery of hot water, which ensures a plentiful supply to meet peak demand while operating with efficiency and economy in mind. ‘In comparison to output, the storage capacity is low, so standing losses are kept to a minimum during periods of low hot-water usage. The Efficiency+ water heater offers 94% (net) thermal efficiency and ultra-low NOx emissions of 9.9 ppm.
