TridonicAtco adds excitement to lighting for furniture showroom

TridonicAtco has supplied its x-touch Box to furniture company Kinnarps to provide enhanced lighting control in its new showroom in Covent Garden in London. The showroom is designed to reflect a real business solution and provides a working demonstration of an exciting workplace. The x-touch Box has been installed in the conference, display and bar areas to control Luxo Lighting’s Vind and S-Type luminaires and Travel downlighters. It provides four options: a cheerful welcoming illumination for general use; a brighter ambience for the conference area; more muted tones for the bar area; and for more informal use the lighting is more intimate. Steve Willis, technical manager with Luxo and lighting designer on the project, explains, ‘The beauty of the x-touch Box is that we are not limited to the number of luminaires we can operate with the system, and we have the option of being able to add luminaires at a later date, which we will certainly be doing.’ The x-touch Box enables task-specific lighting moods to be programmed and automatically activated in all DALI lighting-control systems.
