Carillion joint venture is preferred bidder for Olympics media centre

Carillion in joint venture with Igloo Regeneration Fund has been selected as the preferred bidder for the development of the international broadcast centre and main press centre to serve the London 2012 Olympics. The estimated construction cost for the new centre is £300 million. The centre will house broadcasters, journalists and photographers during the games and have a multi-storey car park. It will be in the north-west corner of the Olympic Park. Work is planned to start on site in March 2009 and for the centre to be ready for occupation in March 2012.
