Dimmable compact fluorescents

Havells Sylvania has introduced a compact fluorescent lamp that can be dimmed right down to 3% of full brightness using two types of dimming. One method of dimming is to turn the lamp off and then on again once the required light level has been reached. The other approach is to use a standard dimmer. The spiral Mini-Lynx Dimmable uses 80% less energy than an incandescent dimmable lamp and has a guaranteed life of 10 000 h.
