Fixed-monitoring approach to meeting F Gas Regulations

Draeger

Draeger’s fixed gas-detection systems can be used to monitor the leakage of fluorinated (F) gases that are used in air-conditioning, refrigeration and heat-pump systems.

Benefits include minimising inspection costs and reducing the costs associated with leaks and/or system downtime. Fixed monitoring equipment enables inspection periods to be doubled for systems containing over 30 kg of F gas — every 12 months for those with 30 kg of F gas and every six months for over 300 kg.

Unlike mechanical devices such as pressure-drop indicators, they are non-intrusive and will not interfere with the use of other equipment.

Polytron IR and Regard controllers are calibrated, so they can detect leaks and raise alarms at several user-defined gas levels. This feature makes it possible to differentiate between small and larger leaks, helping users meet another requirements of the F Gas regulations.

A data logger can record and store information, meeting the requirement for keeping records.
