11 Monodraught Windcatchers will provide natural ventilation for a new Tesco store in Manchester.

Natural ventilation for Tesco’s new Eco Store at Cheetham Hill in Manchester will be provided by 11 Monodraught 4 m-high Windcatchers. They have a distinctive oval shape specially designed and developed for Tesco.

Monodraught believes that this is the first supermarket to have natural ventilation. As it is a food store, special air filters have been incorporated into the Windcatchers. The store is due to open early in 2009.
