Carbon-negative development planned for Thames estuary
A consortium of Scandanivian private-equity investors is looking to build a carbon-negative development near Greenwich. The 20 ha development by the Glupiec Consortium will include technologies such as wind turbines, ground-source heat pumps and photo-voltaic panels.
The polycrystalline coating of the PV will enable enough electricity to be produced to power the entire site and thousands of extra homes.
There will be a farm on the site, including a system to use gas emission from cattle to heat water and ventilation methods to eliminate the need for air conditioning.
