An ITN film production of Monodraught’s Windcatcher natural-ventilation systems and SunPipe natural-lighting systems was shown at the recent NEMEX exhibition. Four case studies were highlighted. One was an interview with Bill Moss (pictured), community champion at Tesco’s new eco store at Cheetham Hill, which has 11 specially designed Windcatcher systems.

He said, ‘The environmental impact of the store is absolutely amazing. We’ve cut the carbon footprint down by 70% compared to a store that was built in 2006, and there’s a real nice feel about the whole store...the fresh air that comes in makes for a better working environment.’

Professor Terry Payne, managing director of Monodraught, said, ‘We were bowled over by the success of the show. The stream of visitors was constant from the moment the doors opened! There is so much interest in energy-saving, eco-friendly products, and we were all very impressed by the very high quality of the professional visitors.’
