ACE backs London 2012 Olympic bid

ACE, the Association for Consultancy & Engineering, has backed London’s bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012. Following a meeting of the association’s large-consultancy group addressed by London 2012 chief operating office Mike Power, ACE chief executive Nelson Ogunshakin declared support for the bid. He said, ‘A successful bid for the 2012 Olympics would be a massive boost for consultancy and engineering. Bringing the Olympics to London would mean major opportunities in the construction sector, of which consultancy and engineering could expect to net a significant amount of work. ‘Apart form the massive sporting and cultural boost given to London and, indeed, the nation, a successful bid will leave a legacy of facilities, homes and infrastructure that will regenerate once of the most underdeveloped areas of the country for generations to come.’
