Learning centre will be an education in energy efficiency

Inviron learning centre

To help a major education project in Ipswich achieve a ‘very good’ BREEAM rating, Inviron is working with main contractor ISG Jackson to install a wide range of energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems.

One of the features of Suffolk One, a learning centre for 16 to 19-year olds, will be an inter-seasonal heat-transfer system. The project will also include rainwater harvesting, Monodraught Windcatcher and Sunpipe systems to provide natural ventilation and light, and roof-mounted solar panels to provide hot water.

The centre is due to open to students in September 2010.
