Water boilers achieve high levels of energy efficiency

Zip Heaters

The Hydroboil Pulse range of wall-mounted boiling-water heaters from Zip Heaters has a combination of energy-saving features to minimise energy consumption. The performance of these units has been independently tested by Aston University.

They can deliver up to 45 cups of boiling water at one time, all with 1 K of boiling point. Recovery rate is up to 140 cups an hour. Flow is controlled using an ergonomically designed red lever that is cool to the touch.

These water boilers are available with capacities of 3, 5 and 7.5 l with white or stainless-steel case.

Among energy-saving features are the use of steam from stored boiling water to preheat incoming cold water. Power use is controlled by the Power-Pulse feature that applies full power during periods of heavy use and significantly less power during periods of low use or no demand.

After two or four hours without any draw-off, the temperature of stored water is allowed to fall to 65°C. Likewise, the stored temperature is set back when lights are turned off in the building.

Integral 24-hour, 7-day timers switch the unit off automatically during known periods of inactivity and return it to full operation ahead of the next expected demand.
