Central boiler and Taconova decentralised flat-stations serve apartment development

Taconova
Central boiler plant and flat-stations from Taconova provide heating and hot water for this apartment development in north London.

A space-saving, energy -efficient and flexible approach to providing space-heating and DHW services for a development of over 150 apartments in Islington, London, is based on Akva-Lux TDP-F flat stations from Taconova (UK). St Williams Yard is a high-specification project from developer Tudor vale comprise apartments with one, two and three bedrooms.

M&E contractor Service Plan installed a gas-fired boiler with the Danfoss flat stations in each apartment to control the heating and supply of instantaneous hot water. They have a compact stainless-steel plate heat exchanger, integral differential-pressure control, fitting piece and sensor pockets. These units can provide up to 53 kW to generate hot water and up to 15 kW for heating.

The approach eliminates the need to provide a separate gas supply to each flat.

The flat stations on this project have built-in meters to enable energy use to be monitored and billed from a central point.
