Dunphy responds quickly to Carlisle flood crisis

Managing director of Dunphy Combustion Sharon Kuligowski and chairman Malcolm Dunphy pulled out all the stops following the recent floods in Carlisle to make, test and deliver three replacement gas burners to Carlisle College — all within a weekend. The floods created havoc in the basement boiler house. Insurance adjusters confirmed that the burners were destroyed and that replacements would have to be fitted — until when the college was without heating and hot water, right in the middle of term Sharon Kuligowski says, ‘I received a call on the Thursday indicting they would need four new burners and asking for estimates. On the next day, the loss adjusters confirmed that the purchase could be made — and we started work. By Sunday evening we had fully tested the burners and their digital management systems. They were delivered to the college by 6 a.m. on Monday morning. Our engineers accompanied the delivery and installed and commissioned the burners by the end of the day.’
