Operation of one sprinkler prevents potential major fire

The operation of a single sprinkler head quickly extinguished a fire that is believed to have started in a paint-mixing vat. Without this intervention, it is quite likely that the outcome would have been considerably different. The fire occurred at Suncrest Fire Surrounds in Co. Durham over the weekend of 18 December. Hall Fire Protection installed the system in 2000 and was called out to recommission the system, which involved replacing four sprinkler heads.
