Water-cooled VRF air conditioning

Mitsubishi Electric’s latest series of water-cooled VRF air-conditioning systems offer COPs of 6.06 in heating and 5.71 in cooling, representing an average 20% increase in efficiency over previous models. The WY/WR2 YHM range is a modular system with units that are 40% shorter and half the volume ratio compared to the previous models.

They are available as heat-pump and heat-recovery versions in sizes from 8 to 24 hp. A triple-module heat-pump version is due to be launched early next year rate at 36 hp.

Outdoor units can be modulated down to 20% of full output. Up to 50 indoor units from the City Multi range can be connected. Piping length has been increased to 500 m for the 2-module system, with the distance between outdoor and furthest indoor unit increased to 165 m.
