Yorkshire Fittings provide cool solution for Travelodge project

Modular prefabrication based on wooden structures for one of the UK’s newest Travelodges at Leicester provided an ideal application for the use of Yorkshire Fittings’ XPress Copper range of plumbing. Because of the wooden structure, no hot work was permitted. The XPress press-fit jointing system for copper tube was used by contractor Warmsley Services throughout the building. The full size range of 15 to 108 mm was used for pipework in the large plant room as well as the 96 en-suite bathrooms. The bathroom pods were prefabricated and fitted with shower, toilet and wash basin. On delivery to site, they were slotted into position and connected to the hotel’s plumbing system via service ducts incorporating XPress Copper — achieving huge time savings compared to on-site installation.
