CIBSE changes venue for national conference

CIBSE has confirmed that its 2004 national conference will go ahead — despite the cancellation of the Clima Expo exhibition that was scheduled at the same time this Autumn. The new venue is the International Hotel, Marsh Wall, next to Canary Wharf in London. The dates are unchanged — 29 and 30 September. Julian Amey, CIBSE’s chief executive, says, ‘We are very disappointed about the cancellation of Clima Expo, which was due to be co-located with the 2004 CIBSE national conference, but we understand the commercial reasons behind the organiser’s decision. ‘However, the conference is, and has always been, a standalone annual event and will, of course, take place.’ The conference has grown in stature over the last few years. Last year’s event in Edinburgh attracted over 700 delegates. This year’s conference will focus on delivering sustainable construction, with three parallel streams of technical presentations and technical tours for delegates.
