Re-using bath and shower water for toilets

Plumb Center, CME Sanitary Systems, Water Recycling

Plumb Center is now a distributor for CME Sanitary Systems’ Ecoplay, which enables water from baths and showers to be used to flush toilets. By diverting bath and shower water to a system that treats and stores it, water consumption and drainage loads in an average home can be reduced by up to 30%.

Since May 2008, all Government-financed developments, including housing-association homes, have had to meet Level 3 and 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes — including water consumption not exceeding 105 l per person per day. The target for 2016 is 80 l per person per day.

Ecoplay guarantees the achievement of Levels 3 and 4 with no other modifications to existing supply systems or appliances — even with high-flow power showers.
