Software quickly evaluates LEED compliance

The Beta release of software to automate the LEED* compliance process has been released by EDSL. ASHRAE 90.1 Studio is said to provide the performance rating in a fraction of the time of using other software. Used with Tas, ASHRAE 90.1 Studio takes modelling data already entered and converts it into the baseline building as required by ASHRAE as part of the LEED assessment procedure.

Having established the baseline building, the software can carry out a comprehensive range of complex simulation calculations and produce data required by LEED — including energy performance, thermal comfort, renewables, daylight and views and green power ventilation effectiveness.

Dr Alan Jones, managing director of EDSL Tas, says, ‘LEED is now the most popular green-building rating system globally. Any consultant working on international projects will greatly benefit from access to the ASHRAE 90.1 Studio.’
