Daikin completes takeover of MacQueen Air Conditioning

Daikin has acquired one of the UK’s fastest-growing air-conditioning suppliers, MacQueen Air Conditioning. MacQueen, established in 1980 and with a staff of 50 in four branches and sales in excess of £16 million, joins the 200 existing employees of Daikin Airconditioning in the UK. The company will change its name to conform to the Daikin European strategy of trading under the Daikin name. Junichi Sato, president of Daikin Europe, says, ‘Integrating MacQueen Air Conditioning into the Daikin family marks a natural conclusion to the long-standing partnership between the two companies that has served their respective businesses and clients well for almost a quarter of a century.’ The UK market represents about 20% of Daikin Europe’s turnover.
