Hilton Doubletree spa gets the Lochinvar treatment

Lochinvar, DHW, domestic hot water
Space heating and hot water for this spa in the Doubletree by Hilton at Chester are provided by separate systems using Lochinvar boilers and water heaters.

The redevelopment of a luxury Hilton hotel in Cheshire has chosen Lochinvar to provide equipment for its new spa. The Doubletree by Hilton is a restored 18th century manor house in landscaped gardens on the outskirts of Chester. The refurbishment involved upgrading the 110 guest rooms and adding 30 more bedrooms and a spa.

The contractor for the project, HE Simms Ltd, installed two Lochinvar boilers to provide space heating for the spa and two Charger water heaters to generate domestic hot water.

The principles of separating space heating and DHW are well established and accepted as an efficient approach. Independent boilers and water heaters sized for their respective loads offer several benefits when compared with a system with the same boiler plant providing space heating and hot water via an indirect cylinder.
