A comfortable and energy-efficient environment in this converted Cornish mine engine house is provided by a Vortice heat-recovery system

To improve the working environment in an old mine engine house in Cornwall that is now used as offices and a meeting/training room, Vortice has supplied a Vort Prometeo heat-recovery system. It was installed by contractor Tee Ltd in the building at Wheal Kitty near St Agnes.

One of the companies using the building is web-development UKNetWeb. Director Toby Parkins said, ‘We were looking for an environmentally friendly solution including energy efficiency to improve the working environment. David Freeman at Tee Ltd had been so pleased with the energy-efficient results of the Vort Prometeo at another development that he recommended it to us, and we’re delighted with it.’

This heat-recovery system has a heat-exchange efficiency of up to 92%. David Freeman says that before the units were fitted, the relative humidity was around 75 to 85% and that since the installation of this system is in the region of 50 to 55%.
