Fire-detection systems

Fike, fire detection

Fike’s SigniFire system provides reliable early detection of fires by watching for the tell-tale signatures of smoke and flames in images captured by Signifire video cameras.

Images can be monitored and recorded in the usual way for surveillance purposes, avoiding the cost of a separate CCTV security installation.

Extensive independent testing has shown that the SigniFire system provided a dependable yet faster response than traditional detectors in a wide range of scenarios. In large open spaces, superior detection is provided with fewer installed devices than required with traditional fire-detection systems.

Fike has also introduced the TwinFlex Pro fire-control panels for flats and houses of multiple occupation. There are versions for two, four or eight zones, each with up to 32 devices, and designed for easy installation with detectors having integral sounders. A delay feature can be used to prevent a single detector triggering a system-wide alarm for a preset period — helping to reduce false alarms from sources such as everyday cooking processes.

For larger installations, Fike offers Duonet panels that support two loops and Quadnet panels that support up to four loops. Up to 200 devices can be addressed on each loop. The mode of operation of remote detectors can be set up and changed from the panel.
