Ambi-Rad gives warm feeling to engineering

Fast warm up and energy-efficient heating for the Enginuity exhibition at the Ironbridge Gorge museum is provided by Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant-tube system in the roof area.
Energy-efficient space heating with rapid warm up from cold is provided in the Enginuity interactive design and technology by a continuous radiant-tube system. The new centre is part of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum, birthplace of the industrial revolution. An Ambi-Rad Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant-tube system provides a cost-effective solution for maintaining even, comfortable temperatures through the 1900 m2 of floor space that houses a range of interactive exhibits and workshop activities. The tubes are suspended in the roof space, and the system has a thermal efficiency of 92%. Temperatures can be zoned according to requirements. John Challen of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust says, ‘The Ambi-Rad system ensures warmth within minutes of the centre opening, and no energy is wasted heating the large volume of air within the building. It provides an unobtrusive solution that works well within the historical environment of the museum.’
