ECA listing for water-cooled VRF air conditioning

Daikin’s water-cooled VRVII heat-pump/heat-recovery air-conditioning equipment is now listed on the Energy Technologies List, so that it qualifies for Enhanced Capital Allowances. The VRVII system, introduced earlier this year, also qualifies under the ‘increased eligibility scheme’, whereby COPs for eligible products will be required to rise from 3.2 to 3.4 and EERs to rise from 2.8 to 3.0 by August 2006.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
