MITIE to refurbish office to BREEAM ‘Very good’

Maintenance, refurbishment, MITIE, BREEAM

MITIE’s Built Environment business has won a major refurbishment design-and-build contract worth £10.5 million with Eastgate Holdings. It is the 9000 m2 office building at 8 Fenchurch Place in the City of London. The building is targeted to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Very good’ and is due for completion by November 2012.

The building will be stripped back to the shell and core, with the refit being taken back to Cat A. There will be a new M&E infrastructure. A more efficient main plant will be installed to deliver more cost-effective heating and ventilation.

Danny Leonard, managing director of Built Environment, said, ‘This is another great project for our new integrated fit-out business, Built Environment, and we’re delighted to be working with Eastgate Holdings to create a highly attractive commercial property.’
