Marco supplies bespoke electrical trunking for student accommodation

Marco Cable Management
The ability of Marco’s Juno trunking to be divided into up to four compartments helped meet the requirements of new student accommodation at Brighton University.

Marco has supplied a series of bespoke trunking units to contractors on site at Brighton University’s latest student accommodation scheme, Varley Halls. Juno is a uPVC dado trunking system, and the units for this project were each cut to 1 m long and supplied pre-assembled with gang boxes and end caps already in place. Contractor Lorne Stewart is carrying out all electrical works at the site.

Lorne Steward is part of Leadbitter’s, the main contractor, supply chain and has collaborated with Marco on several previous schemes. Juno trunking met the contractor’s needs with its single-compartment design that can be sub-divided for power, data and telecommunications cables. The positions of the fixing points for dividers enables two, three or four compartments to be made, depending on installation needs.

Simon Kowalski, area sales manager with Marco, explains, ‘Lorne Stewart has a clear specification that we were able to meet with our Juno trunking. A further requirement was the pre-assembly and pre-cut of the trunking which we delivered, allowing them to fix the units in place, saving significant time.’
