Inverter units get smaller

40% smaller than previous Toshiba split-system condensing units, this compact digital inverter unit offers cooling capacities up to 12.5 kW.

Toshiba’s latest digital inverter split-system condensing units are lighter and as much as 40% smaller than previous Toshiba models, which themselves are claimed to be smaller than other choices. They use R410A, and their efficiency enables them to deliver the same cooling capacity with a single-fan configuration as other units with a double-fan, double-height outdoor unit. The key to the new design is a new 3-row, multiple-tube heat exchanger. These units use a high-efficiency DC twin rotary compressor. Cooling capacities range from 5.0 to 12.5 kW, with heating from 5.6 to 14 kW. Indoor-unit options include a new compact high-wall, ceiling suspended, ducted unit and ceiling cassette.
