Shepherd Engineering wins a starring role

Shepherd Engineering
SES is set to be a star performer in the refurbishment of the National Theatre in London.

The refurbishment of services for the National Theatre in London is one of two new projects with a combined value of £11 million for SES’s London and south-east office. As part of contractor Lend Lease’s team, SES will carry out a full refurbishment of building services in the existing structure and also install services for a new-build element of the project.

To make the landmark building more visible and accessible, a new main entrance is to be created, along with a paint shop for producing scenery. The theatre is to remain open during the work.

The second contract will see SES working with Mansell Construction on the complex overhaul of services as part of a significant refurbishment and extension project to an 11-storey office block on Victoria Street in London. This scheme is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ and an EPC rating of less than 47.

SES regional director Derek Joiner said, Our strategic and innovative approach enables us to secure our place on major schemes across the south east, and further afield, in what remains to be a tough economic and competitive market.’
