Interserve-Kajima is preferred bidder for research project

Interserve and its joint-venture partner Kajima Partnerships have been appointed preferred bidder for the £33 million National Centre of Excellence at Heriot-Watt Research Park near Edinburgh. The appointment was made by the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service. The project will provide facilities for the processing and testing of blood, tissues and cells, as well as R&D, quality and regulatory functions, offices and garages.

Work will start after financial close in the third quarter of this year. Construction is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2017.

Interserve Kajima will provide facilities-management services for 25 years from the end of construction.
