Fire Design Solutions delivers complete fire-protection solutions
Fire Design Solutions (FDS) has been awarded the contract to provide comprehensive fire safety for a residential development of over 800 apartments in London. The project covers the design and installation of residential sprinklers, mechanical smoke venting and fire-alarm systems for three of the blocks of the Riverlight development on the south bank of the River Thames.
The development by St James, part of Berkley Group, will include apartments, restaurants, bars and leisure facilities. The blocks will range in height from 12 to 20 storeys.
Gerard Sheridan, chairman at FDS, said, ‘This is a large project, but with our team’s knowledge and experience of the design and installation of smoke-venting and sprinkler systems we’re well placed to deliver the appropriate levels of protection for the residential elements of the project.’
FDS is due to complete its work by early 2015. The complete development is set opt open in September 2017. Architect is Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
