Radiators feature central connection for ease of planning
MHS Radiators and Brugman have launched the Centric range of radiators, a collection of stylish and robust horizontal and vertical radiators that comply with Lifetime Homes Standards. There are two versions, Centric Compact and Centric Plan. They are made from 1.15 mm steel and powder coated in RAL 9016. Outputs range from 210 to 7137 W. All models have factory-fitted side panels and top grilles.
These radiators have 50 mm central connections which enable them to be mounted quickly and easily (second fix), long after any construction or refurbishment work has been carried out. The location of the connections does not depend on the length of the radiator, so pipes can be laid without the need for preplanning the size or style of radiator.
Centric radiators have six connection points as standard, offering flexibility for new builds or retrofit projects. Heights range from 200 to 900 mm, with lengths from 400 mm to 3 m.
These radiators have been designed to comply with criterion 16 of the Lifetime Homes Standard, which stipulates that switches, socket outlets and other equipment in habitable room are installed at appropriate heights between 450 mm and 1.2 m from finished-floor level. The standard also stipulates that ’service controls’ such as TRVs should be at least 300 mm from any internal room corner. TRVs meeting these requirements will not require reaching or bending down to adjust them, so they are within the reach of wheelchair users and the elderly.
Centric radiators have a TRV inserts, which can be pre-set according to the radiator’s size and heat output.
