Major development begins in Norwich

This ground-breaking ceremony in Norwich marks the beginning of a new student-housing and community development that is set to revitalise the area around the city’s bus station. Brenda Arthur, leader of Norwich Council wielded the spade on the site of the Brazen Gate, part of Norwich’s historic city wall.

Also at the ceremony were representatives from the project’s student-housing specialist Alumno Developments, main contractor Morgan Sindall, architect Carson & Partners and Norwich University of the Arts, whose students will occupy the building.

By summer 2015 there will be new accommodation for 220 students alongside a renovated Grade 2 listed building at 50, All Saints Green, plus anew landscaped public area and community gardens.
