Commissioning modules help achieve soft landing
The FloCon Watchman from SAV Systems combines the proven benefits of commissioning models with electronic monitoring to support ‘soft landings’ for hydronic heating and cooling systems. It provides visibility of performance at zone level rather than whole-system level, so that problems can be quickly pinpointed and remedied.
By operating in zones, it makes effective sub-metering financially viable compared to installing a meter on each terminal unit.
FloCon commissioning modules bring all the control valves for a group of terminal units (such as fan coils and chilled beams) to one location. Watchman modules also incorporate the Watchman electronic flow-measurement device, which makes possible continuous monitoring of flow rates, temperature differential (∆T) and energy consumption for each zone of terminal units — thereby providing better visualisation and understanding of the performance of each zone than would normally be possible.
Key benefits include ease of installation and commissioning, with the ability to easily fine-tune and de-bug the system throughout its life. Building operators can monitor the performance of their systems and re-configure them easily inline with changes in building use.
Each Watchman module includes 2-port actuated control valves and a differential-pressure control valve to ensure that all the control valves have excellent authority.
FloCon and FloCon Watchman models are also available for hydronic systems operating with ultra-low flows.
