Double lighting-control system can be retroffited

Steinel’s LuxMaster lighting control system controls light according to ambient brightness and movement in the controlled area. The sensitivity to movement varies according to the distance from the sensor. Up to 2 m from the sensors, movements of 8 cm or less can be detected. At longer distances up to 12 m around the sensor, walking motion can be detected. This variable sensitivity enables lighting to be controlled exactly to needs, even in large rooms. Energy savings of 40 to 70% can be expected, and LuxMaster can be retrofitted to an existing lighting system. This level of control is made possible by a multi-sensor system. Three sensitive pyro-detectors are connected to sense the heat radiated from all directions. The multi-lens attachment defines 660 separate zones and 1320 switching areas. Smaller areas in the room can be targeted using special shrouds, so that the sensor detects movement from only a single workstation in an open-plan office. There are three models of LuxMaster. BLS basic does not provide dimming. It simply switches lighting on and off according to occupancy and ambient brightness. BLS D is recommended whenever work demands a constant, pleasant level of light using dimming to respond to ambient light. BLS DF offers all the features needed for professional lighting management and is well suited to conference rooms and multi-purpose areas.
