Bosch enters the air-conditioning market

Bosch Commercial & Industrial has entered the UK air-conditioning market with a range of VRF systems that can deliver heating and cooling simultaneously. Geoff Hobbs, business development director, comments, ‘Our decision to enter the UK air conditioning market means those working within the sector can rely on the expertise and experience of a global brand with a wealth of knowledge of the UK building-services sector.’

The Bosch Climate 5000 VRF range is available in three formats.

• SDCI Series — Bosch’s all-inverter heat pump.

• The RDCI Series — an all DC inverter heat-recovery system.

• The MDCI Series — a mini VRF heat pump.

The 5000 VRF range has outputs from 8 to 200 kW The heat-recovery system has an EER of 7.0 at 50% load and an SEER of up to 8.0. Each module can provide continuous heating while performing a defrost cycle.

Models with inverter-driven compressors can operate with up to 1000 m of pipework.

Systems can be controlled by centralised control. The Bosch VRF Intelligent Manager (BVIM) can control up to 1024 units individually and enable the energy consumption of every unit to be monitored using a smart phone, tablet or PC. This feature is particularly useful for organisations wanting to charge tenants according to consumption.

An SMS service is available that will send a text message if a unit fails.
