BIM course receives CIBSE CPD accreditation

Bosch Commercial & Industrial, BIM, CPD, boiler, space heating

Bosch Commercial & Industrial, which manufactures heating and hot-water appliances, has gained CPD (Continuing Professional Development) approval from CIBSE for its training programme on the fundamentals of BIM (building information modelling). The course is aimed at professionals tasked with design and building physical infrastructure — including consultants, architects, contractors and maintenance organisations.

The course lasts 45 to 60 minutes and covers an explanation of the different levels within BIM, who its regulations apply to and how to use the files.

In addition to discussing fundamentals such as where to find BIM files, the course also looks at the wider issues and considers the future of design and building.

Geoff Hobbs, business development director, says, ‘Forming part of EU and UK legislation, BIM is changing the way we plan, design, build and manage our buildings, infrastructure, and utilities. It is therefore vital we help designers, planners and engineers embrace the technology and play our part in simplifying the commissioning process as well as the ongoing maintenance of facilities management.’
